About Olis Robotics

Founded in 2013 as a spinout from the University of Washington’s Applied Physics Lab, Olis Robotics specializes in remote control and error recovery systems for industrial robots.  
Building on advanced telerobotics R&D conducted in collaboration with the U.S. Navy and NASA, the company’s flagship ‘Olis’ system enables remote monitoring, control, and troubleshooting of new and legacy industrial robots. Olis currently supports more than 50% of the global installed industrial robot market base.
Cybersecurity concerns have been a traditional obstacle to the adoption of remote robot monitoring and control systems. Olis addresses these legitimate concerns by allowing users to connect via a secured connection, thereby avoiding the risks associated with cloud-based remote access.
Leveraging Olis Robotics’ expertise in industrial robot safety, Olis provides remote monitoring and control without violating the robot’s existing safety permissions and restrictions. Velocity, acceleration, and joint limit settings on the robot are always obeyed when remote controlling an industrial robot arm.
Olis dramatically reduces the costs associated with industrial robot downtime, helps mitigate robot integrator shortages by enabling them to handle errors without having to travel onsite, and supports widespread adoption of industrial automation.
Olis Robotics has offices and lab space in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood.
